Become a Founding Partner
Happy New Year! 2025 was a big year for us here at MedEdMentor, and we are excited to kick off 2026, which we anticipate will be even bigger!
In September of 2025, we wrote a post about the next chapter for our organization. Greg and I have spent five years growing MedEdMentor from an idea into a global community of over 4,000 users from more than 120 countries. To sustain what exists and to continue innovating on that foundation, support from all of you is crucial. To that end, we have introduced three levels of membership: our Free plan, our Pro plan (individual paid members), and our Institutional plan.
Those of you on the Pro or Institutional plans have unlimited access to all of our premium features including the only Health Professions Education (HPE)-specific literature search, and the AI-powered Theory Suggester. You’ll also enjoy immediate access to any new or improved features that we build in the near future. For example, we just created a Consultation tab (see picture below) that will allow users to directly ask questions about their scholarship to myself and Greg. This is only available on our Institutional plan, but will soon be available to the Pro plan as well. Lastly, Institutional plans include dedicated onboarding for their users as well as an administrative dashboard where designated individuals can control access and monitor platform usage data for their cohorts.
Founding Partner opportunity
We would like to kick off 2026 with a special opportunity for a handful of institutional members that we are calling our Founding Partners. This is our way of saying thank you for believing and investing in the vision of MedEdMentor.
Additionally, Founding Partners can opt to be featured on our homepage with direct links to their own websites. Lastly, Founding Partners will have the opportunity to provide us with direct feedback and help us envision and develop the tools and resources their constituents need to achieve their scholarly goals.
Our first Founding Partner
Speaking of Founding Partners, it is our pleasure and privilege to announce our first Founding Partner: the Patricia A. Tietjen, MD Teaching Academy (PATMDTA) of Nuvance Health! Their Executive Director, Beth West, EdD, thought that membership to MedEdMentor would make the perfect holiday gift for her academy members. Together, we worked to make a surprise announcement at their holiday party. After watching a short video message from myself and Greg, each attendee of the party received an envelope containing a bespoke business card with access to their institutional membership. Those who were unable to attend the party received their invitation to MedEdMentor via email, with one recipient replying, “BEST GIFT EVER!”
Beth decided to partner with MedEdMentor, "because our incredible clinician educators have great ideas—and limited time. As a tiny team, we aren’t always able to give one-on-one, high-touch support for scholars’ brainstorming project ideas or in-depth guidance in finding a theoretical framework (even though we LOVE talking frameworks!)."
Beth and her team envision us helping her academy members with "stronger project design, more clarity around alignment of measurable outcomes, more confidence in academic writing, and scholarly dissemination through regional and national conferences, and journal publications." They also think our involvement will help their scholars to sustain their projects "beyond the pilot phase and enhance the overall Community of Practice within the PATMDTA."
Additionally, Beth and her team "appreciate the opportunity to provide regular feedback to MEM and iterate on the tool together to best meet the needs of scholars." As an example of Founding Partners having an influence on our tools and resources, we are adding two new features to our literature search, based on feedback from Beth and a medical librarian at Nuvance Health: search results filters and the ability to view one’s search history.
Become a Founding Partner
The PATMDTA provides us with one example of a Founding Partner. But, Who should consider becoming a Founding Partner? If your institution supports health professions educators and their scholarship, we want to talk with you. This includes:
- Master's programs (e.g., Master's of Health Professions Education)
- Teaching academies (like the PATMDTA!)
- Faculty development programs
- Medical education departments
- Fellowship programs
- Schools for the various health professions (e.g., medical schools, nursing schools, pharmacy schools)
- Any institution invested in health professions education scholarship
Next steps
If you're in a leadership position at an institution considering becoming a Founding Partner, we'd love to hear from you. If you believe your institution should become a Founding Partner, please share this post with your leadership.
Gratitude
I want to thank Beth West and the Patricia A. Tietjen, MD Teaching Academy for their visionary leadership.
2025 was a big year for us, and we would love for any and all of you to join us in making 2026 a smashing success!
Gratefully,
Geoff Stetson, MD
CEO and Co-Founder, MedEdMentor
